Bottled water is available at City Hall for those customers who are susceptible to high nitrates (pregnant women, parents with infants, or people with health conditions that make them vulnerable to nitrates such as heart disease). There is also a water dispenser behind City Hall/the Fire Department that is hooked up to a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system where customers can fill up personal containers (up to 5 gallons).

The City Council of the City of San Juan Bautista is now accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the San Juan Bautista Planning Commission and Historic Resources Board. MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY – San Juan Bautista Community Clean-Up – Saturday, October 28th, 2017 – 8 a.m. to 12 noon
Make a Difference Day is the largest national day of community service and is a celebration of neighbors joining together to beautify their community. JOIN US!!! Local volunteers are needed for this Largest National Day of Community Service, and there are opportunities for all to get involved. Community clean-up activities include litter removal, cleaning, painting, and landscaping at these city locations:
- Luck Library and Park
- Community Center
- City Hall & Fire Department
- Verutti Park
- Abbe Baseball Park
Clean-up will be followed by a hot dog BBQ at the Luck Library for all volunteers!

San Juan Bautista Youth Commission is recruiting new members!!!
Youth ages 12-18 living within the Aromas San Juan Unified School District boundaries are invited to apply to become a member of the 11-member San Juan Bautista Youth Commission. Commissioners provide insight regarding youth and teen issues to assist the City in addressing the needs of importance for youth and experience a unique opportunity to work with city leaders. The Commission creates events and special programs that positively influence the youth of San Juan Bautista.

The 18th Barrel wine and beer tasting room ribbon-cutting is coming up!
There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the city’s new wine and beer tasting room on Friday, August 18th, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. (see flyer below). If you haven’t gotten a chance to check them out, now is the time to come to San Juan Bautista and taste “the best of both barrels”! Send Kids Back to School Ready to Learn!
United Way of San Benito County is partnering with the San Benito County Office of Education for the 5th Annual “Stuff the Bus”, collecting new backpacks and school supplies for the homeless and need children of San Benito County. The goal is to have all SBC children start school with the supplies they need to be confident and successful. For more information, please click HERE or on the images below. Artists-Writers Workshop Summer Camp – June 12 to 30, 2017, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ($75)
Fostering Literacy Through Art is an art-and-literature-based approach to writing that integrates visual modes of thinking at every stage of the writing process. This curriculum utilizes simple crayon resist art techniques and quality literature in a progression of mini-lessons that teach essential literacy skills to students with diverse learning styles. A limited number of scholarships are available.

Make a Difference Day
On Saturday October 21st, community members took part in a town-wide clean-up day. The City would like to thank sponsors and community members for making this day a success!
The City of San Juan Bautista is under mandatory water restrictions. The State Water Resources Control Board recently adopted an expanded emergency regulation to reduce urban water consumption by 25% in order to safeguard the state’s remaining water supplies.
