Public Works

Public Works Department

The Maintenance Crew remains on a 40-hour work week schedule.  They will be able to check the City’s wells and lift stations on a regular basis, and repair leaks and water lines as needed.  They are also on-duty maintaining streets, sidewalks and parks.  They are maintaining the 24/7 on-call coverage to address all off-hour infrastructure emergencies.

Parks

Parks, Play structures and Public restrooms  are now closed to the public until further notice.

We ask the communities help in keeping children away from them during the mandatory shelter in place order from the County Health Officer.

See our For Residents page for ideas of activities to do at home.

Planning and Community Development

The public counter at City hall is closed.  Planning staff will be working mostly through remote access and can be reached by email at cityplanning@san-juan-bautista.ca.us or by leaving them a voice mail at 1-831-623-4661 extension 20.  The Planning Commission will not meet in April.

Water and Waste Water

The City’s licensed water distributors and waste water treatment operators are on-duty making certain the City’s systems are operating at 100%.  Water quality testing occurs weekly as always, to assure its continued healthy status.  Water bills have to be paid on-line, or by dropping payments into the box at City Hall.  No face-to-face payments can be processed during this emergency. You can send credit card payments securely through our online portal found on our Utility Billing page as "CPTeller".

Building Department

Building permits can be paid on-line and will be issued from the City of Hollister office.  Lead-times for inspections may be longer due to contract service cutbacks.  The local phone, voicemail and email will be monitored during regular business hours.
