NEW WATER RATES  TAKE EFFECT NOVEMBER 1, 2022

The City’s new water rates go into effect November 1, 2022.  Below is the Water Rate Schedule on Ordinance 2022-03, adopted by the City Council August 16, 2022.  A notice is being sent in English and Spanish to all residents informing them of this action in the November billing.  The first bill to include the new rates will arrive the first week in December.

If you are having trouble paying your utility bills, you may be eligible to participate in a City-sponsored County Utility Bill Assistance Program.  These City Grant funds can be used to pay for utility bills as far back as three months.  A County Public Health and Human Services representative is taking applications over the phone call (831) 637- 9293.  The deadline to expend these Grant funds has been extended until September 2023.

The new rates include the estimated capital improvement costs to build a 6-mile drinking water pipeline from the West Hills Treatment Plant to the City, and import drinking water that will improve the water quality for the City.  These improvements will transform the way the City manages its drinking water, blending the imported water 65% with the City’s groundwater.  Hopefully we can eliminate the need for water softeners.

By selecting this EPA “Compliance Project” in October 2020, the City committed to transforming the way it manages the community’s water and wastewater; forever. This is the last step to complete that transformation.

Las nuevas tarifas de agua de la Ciudad entrarán en vigencia el 1 de noviembre de 2022. A continuación se muestra el Programa de Tarifas de Agua de la Ordenanza 2022-03, adoptado por el Concejo Municipal el 16 de agosto de 2022. Se enviará un aviso en inglés y español a todos los residentes informándoles de esta acción en la facturación de noviembre. La primera factura que incluirá las nuevas tarifas llegará la primera semana de diciembre.

Si tiene problemas para pagar sus facturas de servicios públicos, puede ser elegible para participar en un Programa de asistencia para facturas de servicios públicos del condado patrocinado por la ciudad. Estos fondos de City Grant se pueden usar para pagar facturas de servicios públicos de hasta tres meses. Un representante de Salud Pública y Servicios Humanos del Condado está recibiendo solicitudes por teléfono al   

(831) 637-9293. estos fondos de la subvención se han extendido hasta septiembre de 2023.

Las nuevas tarifas incluyen los costos de mejora de capital estimados para construir una tubería de agua potable de 6 millas desde la planta de tratamiento de West Hills hasta la ciudad, e importar agua potable que mejorará la calidad del agua para la ciudad. Estas mejoras transformarán la forma en que la Ciudad maneja su agua potable, mezclando el agua importada en un 65 % con el agua subterránea de la Ciudad. Esperemos que podamos eliminar la necesidad de ablandadores de agua.

Al seleccionar este "Proyecto de Cumplimiento" de la EPA en octubre de 2020, la Ciudad se comprometió a transformar la forma en que administra el agua y las aguas residuales de la comunidad; Siempre. Este es el último paso para completar esa transformación.
