City Council
The City Council meets the third Tuesday of each
month in Council Chambers at City Hall, 311 Second
Street, San Juan Bautista at 6:00 pm. Our City Council
consists of five members elected to serve
four-year terms. |

 Mayor Ed Laverone
Ed was appointed to a four-year term in
December of 2006. He has served the City as
a member of the Volunteer Fire Department
since 1982. An eighth generation resident of
San Juan Bautista, Ed has been married for
twenty years and has three daughters. Ed has
served on the boards of numerous civic and
professional organizations and served on two
study groups for the California Office of
Emergency Services developing statewide
policies on Search and Rescue and revising
the Law Enforcement Guide to Mutual Aid. He
is a law enforcement executive manager with
experience managing multi-million dollar
budgets, contract services and numerous
grant programs. |

Member Priscilla Hill
Priscilla Hill has been serving on the City
Council for 13 years, having served as Mayor
for four of those years. Priscilla has been
married for 42 years and has two sons and
one grandson. She is an active member of
Eastern Star and is the current President of
the City's Library Auxiliary. |

Member Rick Edge
Rick Edge has resided in the city since
1990. After nine years service on the
Planning Commission he applied for the
unexpired term of former Mayor Dan Reed.
Rick has resided in San Benito County since
1967 when he moved here to work as a
reporter at the Free Lance. Later he served
as a police officer for ten years with the
City of Hollister and also as an insurance
sales person with the California State
Automobile Association. He has been in the
real estate field for the past 18 years. He
and his wife, Mary, have two sons and three
grandchildren.
Rick has previously served on the Tres Pinos
School Board and the Sacred Heart School
Board and currently serves on the Finance
Council at Old Mission San Juan Bautista.
