Special City Council Meeting

June 12, 2008

MINUTES

 

  1. Call to Order at 8:00 a.m. by Mayor George Dias, III.

A.    Pledge of Allegiance

B.     Roll Call

Council Members Present:  Mayor George Dias, Vice Mayor Rick Edge, and Council Members Priscilla Hill, Bob Paradice and Ed Laverone.

Staff Present:  Acting City Clerk Trish Paetz and Assistant City Attorney Bob Rathie.

 

  1. Approval of Agenda

A motion was made by Vice Mayor Edge and seconded by Council Member Hill to approve the agenda as presented.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

  1. Public Comment (limited to items on the agenda)

No public comment was received.

 

Whereupon Council went into Closed Session at 8:02 a.m.

 

  1. Closed Session

A.    The Council met pursuant to Government Code 54957, concerning appointment of public employee.  The position under consideration: Acting City Manager, currently vacant.

 

Council resumed open session at 8:07 a.m. Whereupon Assistant City Attorney Rathie reported that council had reviewed an agreement with Stephen B. Julian for services as Acting City Manager.

 

  1. Action Items

A.    Approve an Agreement between the City and Stephen B. Julian as Acting City Manager

A motion was made by Vice Mayor Edge and seconded by Council Member Hill to approve an agreement between the City and Stephen B. Julian for services as  Acting City Manager.

 

  1. Adjournment

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:09 a.m.
