Special City Council Meeting

May 9, 2008

 

  1. Call to Order at 1:43 p.m. by Mayor George Dias, III.

 

A.     Pledge of Allegiance

B.     Roll Call

Council Members Present:  Mayor George Dias, Vice Mayor Rick Edge, and Council Member Priscilla Hill.

Council Members Absent: Bob Paradice and Ed Laverone.

Staff Present:  City Manager Jan McClintock.

 

  1. Approval of Agenda

 

A motion was made by Council Member Hill and seconded by Vice Mayor Edge to approve the agenda as presented.  The motion passed unanimously, 3-0-0-2.

No public comment was received.

 

  1. Action Items

 

A.  Approve Addendum to Existing Contract with Montgomery Watson Harza

 

City Manager McClintock presented a staff report stating the City wishes to contract with MWH to conduct a review of the water sources now available to it and treatment requirements necessary to meet the cease and desist orders from the Regional Water Quality Control Board.  Their fee for conducting said review would be $20,400.

 

During public comment Jolene Cosio asked for clarification on where the treatment will occur.  City Manager McClintock responded that water is to be treated at the treatment plant, then go to the customers for service, and then go into the sewer.

 

A motion was made by Council Member Hill and seconded by Mayor Dias to approve the addendum to the existing contract with Montgomery Watson Harza, and that the review and report must be completed and available to the Council within thirty days from the next council meeting   The motion passed unanimously, 3-0-0-2.
